Bandsaw Machine Service Available:
  1. Cutting Capacity:

    • For a “250 dia” saw, that’s about 250 mm (round), but also check rectangular/square capacities. For example, Cobra’s CHB 250 SC can do 320 × 170 mm rectangular.

  2. Blade Dimensions:

    • The size of the bandsaw blade (length × width × thickness) is critical. Cobra CHB 250 SC uses a blade of 2915 × 0.9 × 27 mm.

    • Blade width affects rigidity and the type of materials you can cut (wider blades better for hard materials / tight radius).

  3. Blade Speed:

    • Important for different materials. For example, the CHB 250 SC has blade speed of 35–70 m/min.

  4. Motor Power:

    • The saw requires a sufficiently powerful motor to drive the blade under load.

    • E.g., on a double-column hydraulic bandsaw, spec might be a few kWs for saw drive + separate motor for hydraulic pump.

  5. Feed Mechanism:

    • Hydraulic down-feed / up-feed is common in industrial metal bandsaws for controlled cutting.

    • Some machines let you program feed, number of pieces, etc. (e.g., SPM HBM 250)

  6. Cooling System:

    • Cutting metal generates heat; most metal bandsaws have coolant systems to cool the blade and workpiece, and flush out chips.

    • The Cobra CHB 250 SC, for example, includes a cooling system.

  7. Clamping / Vise:

    • How the material is held. For high precision, a dual hydraulic vice is desirable (like in automated saws). SPM HBM 250 has hydraulic dual vice clamping.

  8. Automation:

    • Manual (swing arm), semi-automatic, or fully automatic.

    • Automation affects productivity, especially for batch cutting. Cobra’s CHB 250A has automatic features and mitre cutting (+60° / ‐45°).

  9. Machine Footprint & Weight:

    • A 250 mm capacity saw is a decently large machine; weight and base size matter for installation.

    • The Cobra CHB 250 SC weighs about 300 kg.

  10. Safety Features:

    • Guards, emergency stop, blade break detectors (in advanced machines), chip removal, etc.
