The isocyanate functional groups in TDI react with hydroxyl groups to form carbamate (urethane) links. The two isocyanate groups in TDI react at different rates: The 4-position is approximately four times more reactive than the 2-position. 2,6-TDI is a symmetrical molecule and thus has two isocyanate groups of similar reactivity, similar to the 2-position on 2,4-TDI. However, since both isocyanate groups are attached to the same aromatic ring, reaction of one isocyanate group will cause a change in the reactivity of the second isocyanate group.^[3]

PAPI 27 POLYMERIC MDI PAPI* 27 polymeric MDI is a polymethylene polyphenylisocyanate that contains MDI. This product has a narrow molecular weight distribution and a high reactivity. Applicable to many foam processes, this product is compatible with rigid polyether and polyester polyols, making it suitable for a full range of low- to high-density semi-rigid foams, rigid foams and structural RIM processing. Polymethylene polyphenylene isocyanate (PPI), is a polyurea-based polymer derived from isocyanate monomers that is used in some glues, aerosol foams, plastics, paint and household products.^[1]

PPI is listed as a "hazardous agent" by the National Institutes of Health because it irritates skin and breathing passages at high concentrations. Some painters exposed to PPI and related isocyanate chemicals have developed occupational asthma.^[2] In chronic toxicity tests, mice exposed to low levels of PPI developed no side effects. Only those mice exposed to the two highest concentrations developed any lung symptoms.^[3] The two highest doses used in this study were 1.0 and 6.0 mg per cubic meter for 6 hours each day, 5 days each week for 2 years. The duration-adjusted exposure levels for these two high concentrations are equivalent to 11 ppb and 70 ppb, 24 hours/day for two years.

DEVAFOAM ZO 360 H

DEVAFOAM ZO 360 H is a formulated polyol co-blown with Zero ODP blowing agent, some additives

and other blowing agents to reduce the flammability. This Polyol has good solubility. It is used in

insulation of vessels, AHU Panels, doors, sandwich panels, pipe section, and similar applications. The

system based on Devafoam ZO 360H has the excellent flow ability necessary to fill complex cavities

typical is such applications.
