The Electronics and Communication Engineering department at VKSCET has a vision of ‘Technology towards Improvement’. The department has qualified and experienced staff members supplemented with well equipped laboratories to conduct experiments as stipulated in the syllabus. The department has the following laboratories

• Digital Electronics lab
• Electronics Circuits Lab
• Linear Integrated Circuit Lab
• Electronic Circuits and Simulation Lab
• Microprocessor Lab
• Signals and Systems Lab

The Laboratories principally focus on practical exposure to some of the fundamental concepts like resonance phenomenon, transients, coupled circuits, VI characteristics of various electronic devices like DIAC, TRIAC, FET, BJT etc. The department trains the students in experimenting with innovative ideas on specially designed workbench using tools such as MATLAB, ORCAD, PSPICE, MULTISIM etc. These software’s give students the much needed hands on experience they need to understand the concepts and implement the same in their projects. The labs are continuously updated to facilitate training and R&D in cutting edge technology.

The department has organized frequent workshops on emerging trends in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Guest lecture by eminent professors from prestigious colleges has been conducted by the department.

Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline most needed in fast developing countries. The discipline imparts knowledge to the students on structural design, constructional material/techniques and Environmental Engineering. The laboratories in the department enable the students to understand the field applications of the technical concepts. The department of Civil Engineering is well equipped with all the required machines and components to conduct practical programmes as stipulated in the curriculum. Students are motivated to learn all the intricacies of practical subjects and also made to think analytically.

The Laboratories include

• Hydraulic Engineering Lab, equipped with various types of Turbines, Pumps and fluid measuring devices
• Soil mechanics Lab, consisting of hydrometers, consolidation testing, compaction apparatus etc
• Concrete Lab, having flow table, mortar mixer, compression testing machine etc
• Survey Lab, equipped with surveying equipments, links etc.
• Strength of material Lab, equipped with universal testing machine, torsion testing machine, impact testing machine, wood tester etc to conduct tests and to study the physical properties of materials such as steel, brick, wood etc.

It covers major topics like Power Electronics, Control Systems, Signal Processing and Telecommunications. It is also considered to deal with problems associated with large scale electrical systems such as Power transmission and Motor control.

Special guest lectures by senior members of the faculty, Professors from well known institutions, Experts and Professionals from corporate and Industrial houses complement the instruction and training thereby enriching the knowledge of students in the subjects concerned. Students are also encouraged to make frequent visits to Industries and learn the actual process that takes place there. This helps them to get a glimpse of what people in the industry actually do, which makes them better professional when they graduate.

The department of Computer Science aims at providing a strong foundation in computer fundamental concepts that prepares students to enter the professional world with a base for continued study and growth. It also aims to make students capable of utilizing their skills in industry and Research & Development Laboratories. The facilities also include,
