"WILLSAN" Arc Welding Transformers. These machines work on high power factor when drawing small currents generally in the range of 0.8 to 0.9 so that overall efficiency of these machines increases causing power system gains in our distribution system. In the conventional types of machines the currents in three phases are not equal. One phase is always loaded twice than the other two phases. These machines work on low power factor when drawing small currents generally in the range of 0.3 to 0.6 because of leakage reactance of choke and of the transformer itself. For the same power output, the current taken is more so that overall efficiency of these machines decreases causing power system losses in our distribution system. As power losses increases we may experience voltage drops causing overheating and premature failure of transformers and other inductive equipments. Again the size of the overall machine is bulky. Our Arc Welding Transformers confirm to IS 1851 (Part-I) 1975 and are backed by the latest technology, incorporating numerous advanced features. 1. The Voltage and Current required for different sizes / types of welding rods are different. However, welding transformers now available in the market are designed for a particular Open Circuit Voltage. With the help of our machine you can get wide range of Voltages required for various sizes / types of welding rods to strike and to maintain the arc and to have the various Currents from them. The output voltage of our transformer can be varied in small increments i.e. in 0.10 to 0.15 volts through Coarse Control and Fine Control Adjustments in above 110 steps, up and down. 2. As no separate Choke, or Moving core or Centre Tap Auto Transformer is necessary for our modern design, the size of the machine is very small and accordingly the weight is less, easily movable from job to job. 3. The Transformers are fitted with Rotary Switches for Voltage / Current variations. 4. Machines work on improved Power factor (above 0.8) and is constant for any load. Thus above 30% Saving in monthly Energy Usage and Utility Demand Charges and more than 70% Saving in Cost of Power Factor Correction Equipment as compared to conventional welding machines now available in the market. Improved Power Factor helps to reduce line losses and consequently reduces the generation and transmission costs of our distribution system. Energy Conservation With our modern machines we have contributed for Energy Conservation and we are proud of it. 5. Transformer cores are assembled from prime grade Cold Rolled Grain Oriented steel. The lamination grade selected ensures to meet the guaranteed performance parameters. Transformers are provided with 100% Copper winding. They can also be provided with Aluminum winding as per requirements. Improved Power Factor causes reduction in maximum KVA demand and consequently there is monthly saving over the maximum demand charges. However when power factor is improved it involves low capital investment on the power factor correction equipment.
