It is the Age of Information in which the ECE plays a vital role in almost every field. This contributes to the process of producing efficient and resourceful engineers by embedding the R&D capabilities of the recent trends. The primary objective of the department is to impart quality education, training and research at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in various areas of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of electronic systems. Here the students are given more practical exposures and innovative methodologies for the design and development in the electronics field, which is the backbone for all Engineering disciplines. It offers an excellent field infrastructure and study environment. It has well qualified and experienced faculty with areas of specialization in communication systems, Signal and Image processing, Embedded systems and Applied Electronics .The well-equipped lab facilities favor individual concentration as there are not more than two or three students in any practical group.

The Department of Electronics Engineering, was established in 1984. Department is running one UG (regular) and Two PG courses, M. Tech. (EE) and M. Tech. (VLSI Design) (Shift 1 &  2).Majority of faculty members are actively involved in key research areas, including VLSI design, Embedded System design, Digital Signal & Image Processing, Wireless Communications. Various department level activities are organized by two active student's societies, namely IEEE Students Chapter (IEEE fraternity @ YCCE)and EESA (Electronics Engineering Students Association). Through active interaction with the industry, leading entrepreneurs, alumni, scientists, professors from institutes of eminence from India and abroad, students are encouraged to participate in research oriented activities, project competitions and technical paper presentations. The department regularly organizes In-house trainings, value added programs and Workshop series.

In past years,Civil Engineers focused on design and construction of new facilities, such as buildings, bridges and highways, water treatment and environmental facilities, foundations and tunnels. Today's Civil Engineer not only has to design new facilities but must also analyze the effects of deterioration on infrastructure elements, considering environmental and economic sustainability.

Civil engineers must be equipped with in-depth knowledge of traditional, fundamental principles and new technologies in order to address the complex, interdisciplinary problems faced within society.

Being the oldest department of the institute, we offer a four-year course leading to the Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with an intake of 180, two-year courses leading to Master's degree in two major specialisations of civil engineering as M. Tech in Structural Engineering with intake 25 and M,. Tech in Environmental Engineering with intake 18 .

The Department of Information Technology is established in 2001, conducts one UG program in Information Technology with intake of 60 and PG program, M. Tech. in Information Technology with intake of 18. Department is approved research centre of Rashtrashant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University for Ph.D. program. Majority of faculty members are expertise in the fields of Image Processing and Computer Vision, High Performance Computing, Data Mining & Machine Learning and Computer Networking. The department also administers the student's chapter of Computer Society of India (CSI) for YCCE, and conduct various technical events such as programming contests; code night battle, technical quizzes, web designing, etc. The student's council SPIRIT (Society of Passionate Individuals Representing Information Technology) has been formed with the objective of all round development of students. SPIRIT regularly conducts co-curricular and extra-curricular activities as inter/intra college competitions. The Department has 'AURA' student forum. Under this forum, we conduct various social cause activities like cloth donation, Blood donation, Book donation, helping poor background people, etc. Every year department published Magazine – “Maadhyam” and Newsletter – IT “NewsTrack”. With active interaction with the industry students are encourage to participate in internship programs, research activities, project competition and technical paper presentations. The department regularly organizes industrial visits, induction program, student development program, guest lectures, seminar, workshops, in-house training, webinar, etc.

With an aim to broaden the educational background of students, the department offers studies in applied physics, applied chemistry, applied mathematics and humanities. The department of applied physics has a well-equipped LASER laboratory and has made significant research contribution on International level in the fields of acoustics and solid state physics. Offering facilities of testing and consultancy, the department of applied chemistry, focuses its research on biodiesel, synthesis of natural products, waste water treatment, adsorption etc. Basic research activities by the department of mathematics include providing necessary theory, numerical and computational techniques. The department of humanities provides studies in economics as well as psychological and sociological subjects.
